The Australian Government would like to invite you to attend its social inclusion conference in Melbourne on 28 and 29 January 2010. The conference is an opportunity to join a national conversation about effective and innovative social inclusion policy and practice.

The conference will be highly interactive and offer participants an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss topics and learn from each other to build a more socially inclusive Australia.

Invited Address - Creative Partnerships, Innovative Practice

David Droga, founder of Droga5 and the creator of the Million campaign

The Million project is part of a program in New York City designed to improve school attendance and achievement among disadvantaged children based around the prolific use of mobile phones by youth. The phones were used to help students internalise connections between education and success by teachers scoring students in key areas such as attendance, behaviour and class performance. Based on those scores, students earned points which could then be converted into free talk time, text messaging, music downloads and shopping discounts.
